A revision nose job is a type of surgery that changes the structure and features of the nose to improve its appearance and, in some cases, function. The procedure is only performed on people who’ve had rhinoplasties in the past (more than 12 months ago) and who are unhappy with their noses.
Revision surgery is for patients who require additional surgical alterations to achieve the desired outcome or correct issues that may arise during recovery or years later due to injury, aging, or preference. These issues may be apparent after previous operations or develop some time later. Either way, patients can have revisions made to their noses to correct them.

Although requests for secondary rhinoplasty are fairly uncommon (especially when the initial procedure was performed by a reputable surgeon), patients may desire a revision for a number of reasons, such as: Side profile issues (e.g. dorsal irregularities, pollybeak deformity, or a droopy tip).
Scar tissue from prior rhinoplasty is often an issue in revision cases and can limit the final outcome since it may recur even after successful revision rhinoplasty. Also, revision rhinoplasty often requires the use of cartilage to replace damaged and/or deficient cartilage removed in the prior surgery.
A splint can be placed on a patient’s nose after the procedure, and this splint will be removed approximately one week later. The majority of revision rhinoplasty patients do not require nasal packing. Patients can expect to experience swelling, pressure and pain/discomfort in the first few days after surgery.
Patients may start light activity within three to five days, like short walks or light housework, to promote circulation and expedite recovery. Within two weeks, most patients return to regular activities like going to work or socializing.
